I’ve built this site as a way to collect my thoughts as I travel over the course of the next year. I want it to be a creative and interactive way to share my experiences with people I know as well those I don’t.
My journey will begin in England, where I’ll make my way down to St.-Jean-Pied-de-Port, France. From there I will walk El Camino de Santiago (”The Way of St. James”) across northern Spain. Known as El Camino Frances, this route is about 500 miles long and will take 4 to 6 weeks to complete.

From the shores of western Spain I will then begin making my way east, across the Europoean continent, on in to Asia and Indonesia over the course of a year.
For me, this journey is a chance to take a break from the everyday and cultivate new experiences. It’s a chance to see the world beyond the television or computer screen and breathe it in as real. It’s a chance to re-connect with my passions and my thoughts - to slow the pace of things down and enrich my brief time upon this earth. It’s a chance to be set adrift, if but for a moment, and let the current take control.
I want to invite you, friend or stranger, to share these experiences - good or bad as they come. Perhaps you’ll find a little inspiration from what unfolds or simply learn a lesson at my expense. Nonetheless, welcome, and…
Wish me luck,
Christopher
